As the Rich Retreat the Poor Die on the Street
The disparity between rich and poor and how they are impacted by COVID-19 really stuck in my mind. People with wealth and job security could easily take their lives somewhere secure; whereas around my studio a tent-city sprang up. Inspired by a visit to the Seattle Asian Art Museum right before it closed, this work draws on the Chinese landscape for inspiration.
